🌱 Position Summary
We’re looking for an experienced, detail‑oriented Landscape / Construction Estimator to help drive our growth. This role is responsible for identifying bid opportunities, preparing accurate and competitive estimates, and supporting our team throughout the bidding and project planning process. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on estimating experience in landscape construction, site work, or general construction and thrives in a collaborative environment.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue bidding opportunities to support company growth.
- Review plans, drawings, and specifications to produce detailed quantity take‑offs and material cost estimates.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive cost summaries and present findings to internal teams and clients.
- Communicate scope, pricing, and assumptions to potential clients and respond to questions.
- Collaborate with landscape architects, clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams on estimate adjustments and project changes.
- Track actual project costs against estimates to evaluate cost effectiveness and improve future accuracy.
- Recommend enhancements to estimating processes, incorporating historical data and lessons learned.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
🎓 Required Skills & Experience
- 5-10+ years of estimating experience in landscape construction, site work, or general construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
- Proficiency with CAD and other construction or landscape design software.
- Experience with Bluebeam and RSMeans (or similar estimating tools).
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Landscape construction and site work
- Asphalt paving
- Concrete and masonry
- Fencing
- General building techniques and basic engineering concepts
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Understanding of construction scheduling, bidding, and estimating best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time‑management skills.
