At Bose Corporation, we believe sound is the most powerful force on earth — and for over 60 years, we have been a company built on innovation, excellence, and independence. Privately owned, fiercely customer-focused, and driven by our values, we continue to lead industries and transform lives through sound.
Today, Bose Corporation is entering an exciting new era. Across multiple global Business Units and Global Functions, we are shaping the future of audio technology, automotive, luxury, and premium experiences. We invite you to join us in this transformation.
Job Description
About the role:
We are seeking a senior DSP engineering leader to provide technical and functional leadership for Bose’s Audio Technology Licensing business. This role emphasizes strategic technical direction, organizational leadership, and ecosystem collaboration, more than day-to-day player-coach execution.
The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in audio, voice, and noise-reduction DSP, combined with the ability to lead internal and external engineering resources, shape platform-level capabilities, and partner effectively with silicon vendors, product management, and business development teams.
Experience with applied machine learning techniques for audio systems—including hybrid DSP/ML approaches—is a strong plus, particularly as these methods increasingly complement traditional signal processing in licensable technologies.
What you will do
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Organizational Leadership
- Provide functional leadership for DSP engineering efforts supporting Audio Technology Licensing, guiding internal individual contributors across audio, voice, and noise-canceling domains, including both classical signal processing and applied ML-based approaches where appropriate.
- Motivate and direct a diverse, globally distributed set of engineering resources to solve complex technical challenges with high standards for quality, robustness, and scalability.
Platform & Enterprise Alignment
- Work closely with internal engineering partners (embedded software, systems, research, and platform teams) to define, evolve, and leverage shared DSP and ML-enabled platform capabilities.
- Advocate for platform-level investments that create enterprise-wide benefit across multiple business units, including both first-party and licensing use cases.
What you bring
Technical Expertise
- Deep domain expertise in audio signal processing, speech/voice processing, and noise reduction technologies.
- Strong understanding of embedded DSP systems, algorithm optimization, productization and deployment across constrained platforms.
- Familiarity with applied machine learning techniques for audio systems, such as ML-assisted noise reduction, speech enhancement, or audio scene analysis, and experience integrating ML methods alongside traditional DSP in production environments is a plus.
- Experience working with or alongside silicon vendors (SoC providers) to influence and adopt platform capabilities.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to lead senior technical contributors with limited reliance on hands-on execution.
- Proven experience managing internal teams and external engineering partners in both co-located and distributed environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business, product, and partner stakeholders.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a signal-processing-related field; MS strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of relevant industry experience in DSP, audio, or related domains.
- At least 3 years of experience managing technical staff, with increasing scope and responsibility.
