Student Services & Accommodated Testing Center Coordinator, Disability Services
Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Disability & Access Services (DAS) and in collaboration with the Senior Associate Director and Associate Director of the Accommodated Testing Center, the Student Services & Accommodated Testing Center Coordinator serves in a hybrid role supporting both disability accommodation services and the daily operations of the Accommodated Testing Center. The position balances responsibilities between coordinating accommodations for an assigned caseload of students and overseeing accessible testing services to ensure equitable access for students with disabilities. The coordinator works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners to facilitate the interactive accommodation process, implement approved academic accommodations, and maintain compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA), and FERPA. The position also supports assistive technology initiatives and the efficient operation of the Accommodated Testing Center by supervising testing processes, maintaining secure testing environments, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. This is a fully in-person position with responsibilities shared across Disability & Access Services and the Accommodated Testing Center during the regular work schedule of 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Essential Functions:
Student Services Coordination (50%)
- Coordinate disability accommodations and auxiliary aids for an assigned caseload of students through the interactive process.
- Review disability documentation and determine eligibility for services in accordance with university policies and federal regulations.
- Consult with the DAS Director and Senior Associate Director regarding complex accommodation requests, course adjustments, and disability-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate, confidential student records, documentation, and correspondence within the DAS database.
- Serve as a resource to students, faculty, and staff regarding disability accommodations, accessibility, and related policies.
- Participate in outreach initiatives, orientations, graduation, trainings, and campus events that promote disability awareness and inclusive practices.
Accommodated Testing Center Operations (50%)
- Consult with the Associate Director of the Accommodated Testing Center on the coordination and oversight of daily operations ensuring approved testing accommodations are implemented accurately and efficiently.
- Supervise testing processes and student workers while maintaining a secure, distraction-reduced testing environment.
- Coordinate testing accommodations including extended time, reader, scribe, text-to-speech technology, distraction-reduced testing, and other approved accommodations.
- Ensure examinations and testing materials are received, secured, administered, and returned to faculty in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between students and faculty regarding testing schedules, procedures, and accommodation implementation.
- Maintain the security of student belongings and testing materials throughout the testing process.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- One to three years of related higher education experience required; three to five years preferred.
- Preferred academic background in education, psychology, counseling, special education, or related field.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a higher education environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience interpreting disability documentation and psychometric evaluations preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and FERPA. Knowledge of disability accommodation practices and accessible testing procedures.
- Working knowledge of assistive technology, accessibility software, Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively work with diverse students, faculty, staff, and families.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, problem-solving, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated commitment to accessibility, equity, inclusion, and student success.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a professional team.
