Dental hygienist
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. Experience with EMR systems, infection control protocols, and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in supporting general dentistry procedures and ensuring compliance with all health regulations, including HIPAA standards.

Job Description Duties
Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using appropriate aseptic techniques
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Review medical records for completeness and accuracy prior to procedures
Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination
Support pediatric dentistry needs by providing gentle care tailored to children and adolescents
Monitor patient comfort levels and provide reassurance during treatments
Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure seamless patient care delivery

RequirementsValid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certifications in CPR and infection control
Preferences Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR platforms
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review processes
Experience with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and chairside assisting preferred
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and infection control standards
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups, especially pediatrics
Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
Prior experience in general dentistry or dental clinic settings is highly desirable
