SHINE SPECT is seeking an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Manager supports the month-end close process, account reconciliation review, general ledger maintenance, maintaining effective financial controls and assists with audits and compliance reporting. The Accounting Manager serves as a key contributor to the finance team, bringing a solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage a growing accounting team.

This position is based in Massachusetts and requires presence on-site three days per week.

The base salary range for this position is $140,000-150,000 plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Month-End Close

• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely completion.
• Review and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and review financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Support financial audits and compliance initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and regulatory requirements
• Partner with Finance to ensure operational performance reporting to leadership.
• Partner with Finance in the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning (LRP) activities.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor and manage accounting staff
• Lead process improvement initiatives and support training on revised procedures.
• Develop and maintain internal controls
• Improve accounting systems and processes for efficiency

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in general accounting (manufacturing or pharma experience preferred).
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Strong and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
