Mechanic/Technician

The fleet mechanic at JC Grounds Management is a dynamic role that requires a very broad base of technical knowledge. In this integral position, you will oversee the preventative maintenance and repair of our growing fleet of trucks and equipment. You will be a self-starter with an uncanny sense of urgency who is organized with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and preventative maintenance to all trucks, loaders, skid steers, plows, snow pushers, trailers, landscape equipment and small engine equipment.
• Work with field technicians and management to make sure all equipment is functioning properly and ready for use.
• Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs vehicles and equipment onsite and offsite.
• 100% participation during snow events, required overtime to be worked.
• Complete work orders with start and end times, also noting all parts and all work done on each part of equipment repaired.
• Keep garage, yard and facility organized and clean at all times.
• Provide training to technicians in the safe and proficient use of equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
• Hoisting license (Class 2A) or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire on date.
• 5 years prior experience in a commercial garage / shop environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Compensation

Hourly pay ranging from $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience.

Hourly pay during active snow events ranging from $40.00-$50.00per hour, based on experience.
