CNC Machinist

Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Machining Manager, the CNC Machinist operates machinery and uses precision instruments to manufacture tooling and perform secondary machining operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Efficiently and safety operates machinery and uses precision instruments to manufacture tooling and perform secondary machining operations.
\n
• Produces machined parts by setting up, and operating CNC machines.
\n
• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
\n
• Ensures that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintains a clean and orderly environment.
\n
• Performs other duties as assigned.
\n

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

\n
• Must be able to read engineering blueprints.
\n
• Strong computer skills.
\n
• Self-motivated and able to work with little direction,
\n
• Strong multi-tasking and planning skills and ability to perform under pressure of deadlines.
\n
• Works well with multi-functional teams.
\n
• Must have excellent communication skills.
\n
• Willing to learn new machining and mold fabrication techniques.
\n
• Must have a positive attitude.
\n

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

\n
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
\n
• 2 + years experience in CNC machining.
\n

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

\n
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
\n
• Constant use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
\n
• Repetitive hand and arm movements.
\n
• Occasional bending and twisting.
\n
• Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks.
\n
• Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.
\n
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
\n
• Must be able to wear PPE as necessary (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, etc.).
\n
• Due to the nature of the work we perform, U.S. Citizenship is required.
\n

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise levels within safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.
