Buyer

• Location: Gloucester MA
• Day Shift: Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm
• Pay Rate: $28.50 - $37.50 per hour, depending on level of experience

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate pricing and other terms of purchase under supervision.
• Quote materials; procures materials, components, equipment and services at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need. Expedites and ensures the timely receipt of materials.
• Works with engineering and MPM or SCM to recommend new suppliers.
• Analyze proposals, negotiate prices and delivery, issues and/or adjusts purchase orders in a timely manner.
• Follows-up on orders, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records.
• Negotiates vendor contracts, as appropriate.
• Leads purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’ s Degree in business administration
• Supply chain management, procurement, or a related field

Technical Skills:

• Data analysis, inventory management, procurement processes, and supply chain technologies

Computer Skills:

• Procurement Software SAP/SCV/ARIBA
