Looking for HOSTS to welcome guests to Eastern Standard!

Overview of Concept:

The Bower plaza in the Fenway is home to three concepts from ES Hospitality - Eastern Standard, reopened after 15 years in Kenmore Square, Equal Measure, a craft cocktail bar, and Standard Italian, a modern Italian restaurant. These concepts, helmed by Garrett Harker, serve brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night drinks to neighborhood visitors, BU students and faculty, residents, and restaurant industry professionals alike. Garrett is joined by Beverage Director Jackson Cannon and Culinary Director Brian Rae in the operation of these concepts.

About The Position:

Eastern Standard is looking for hosts to run the door and welcome guests into our spaces. We are seeking candidates who possess a passion for hospitality, who like to stay busy and who are eager to work in a dynamic restaurant environment.

The Fenway neighborhood is a continuously evolving and exciting community buzzing with residents, professions, students, baseball fans and concert goers. This is your chance to see what all the fuss is about as a member of a restaurant group with an iconic reputation.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests into the restaurant with warmth and hospitality

• Send guests off with a thoughtful goodbye at the end of their experience

• Work to cultivate meaningful guest relationships in order to help create return guests and regulars

• Manage reservations (table assignments, tracking table progress)

• Manage the wait list (quote times, manage expectations, offer guests thoughtful suggestions for waiting when necessary)

• Answer phones and return voicemails

• Assist in the fulfillment of takeout orders

• Communicate with management and service teams to meet guests’ needs (special requests/accommodations, allergies, celebrations)

• Prior experience with Open Table and Toast is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

Rates start at $19/hour but may differ depending on experience
