Job Title: Line Cook

Location: Uno Pizzeria & Grill, Springfield, MA

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Reports To: Kitchen Manager, Executive Chef

Overview:

Join our vibrant team at Uno Pizzeria & Grill located in Springfield! We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to prepare and cook high-quality dishes for our guests. As a Line Cook, you'll play an essential role in ensuring that every dish is made to perfection and served promptly, in line with our restaurant’s commitment to excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food items according to Uno’s recipes and standards. Ensure the quality, taste, and presentation of each dish.

Station Setup: Set up and stock the assigned cooking stations with all necessary supplies, ingredients, and tools for efficient operation.

Cooking & Plating: Cook and plate food items to order, ensuring all dishes meet Uno Pizzeria & Grill's quality standards. Work with various kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and stovetops.

Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other line cooks, dishwashers, and kitchen staff to maintain smooth kitchen operations, especially during peak hours.

Cleaning & Maintenance: Keep the kitchen, cooking stations, and work areas clean, organized, and sanitized according to health and safety standards.

Inventory Management: Assist with stock rotation and inventory checks to ensure the kitchen has the necessary ingredients on hand for service.

Compliance: Adhere to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, city of Worcester food establishment standards, and Uno's policies to maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Time Management: Work efficiently to ensure that all orders are completed in a timely manner, especially during busy periods, while maintaining high quality.

Adaptability: Take direction from the kitchen management team and adapt to changes in menu or special requests.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar kitchen role preferred.

Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks at once.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of food quality and presentation.

Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Must have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work well with a team.

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.

Current ServSafe certificate preferred.

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
