Bookkeeper

Careerscape is recruiting a part-time Bookkeeper on behalf of our client, an accounting and financial services company based in downtown Boston. This role supports day-to-day financial operations for a small portfolio of business clients, handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

The position is well suited to someone who wants steady part-time hours with room to grow into additional responsibilities. The team is small, so the Bookkeeper will work closely with senior accountants and have direct visibility into client accounts rather than being siloed into a single task.

This is an on-site role based in the client's downtown Boston office, with a schedule of roughly 20-25 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries for multiple client accounts
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
• Prepare and send client invoices on a regular billing cycle
• Track expenses and code transactions to the correct accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Generate basic financial reports for senior accountants
• Respond to client inquiries about invoices and payments

Requirements

• Associate degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2 or more years of bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• Comfortable working with multiple client accounts at once
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet recurring deadlines without close supervision
