About The Role

As a CBRE Laboratory Instrument Services Technician, you will calibrate, maintain, and complete the minor repairs of scientific instrumentation.

This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

This role maybe required to provide support during weekends and support emergency service requests.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and maintain laboratory gas systems, including the safe handling, movement, and delivery of gas tanks and cylinders.
  • Monitor gas distribution systems to ensure proper function and safety.
  • Perform routine system checks on laboratory support equipment and utilities.
  • Oversee general lab services such as glass washing and service coordination.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on laboratory equipment
  • Coordinate the removal of equipment needing basic repairs during scheduled maintenance periods.
  • Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment.
  • Responsible for locating part sources and estimating costs.
  • Document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Assist with the development of equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
  • Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

What You’ll Need

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Must have appropriate license or certification where required by law.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Laboratory Coordinator position is $65,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Laboratory Coordinator is $85,000 position is annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
