About the Role:

Chief Building Engineer – Boston Seaport(Class A Office Critical Systems 1st Shift)
CBRE is seeking an experienced and driven ChiefBuilding Engineer to lead engineering operations at a premier 900,000-square-footClass A office property in Boston’s vibrant Seaport district. This is a 1stshift leadership role offering a stable schedule within a best-in-classcommercial environment that features on-site dining amenities for tenantand employee convenience.
As the senior technical leader on-site,you will oversee all aspects of building systems and infrastructure ,ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous operation of criticalsystems , including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety. You willprovide direction to the engineering team, manage maintenance programs, andserve as the key point of contact for operational excellence across theproperty.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leaderwith a strong background in mission-critical or complex commercialfacilities , combined with proven experience managing teams and drivingpreventative and predictive maintenance strategies. What You’ll Do:

  • Follow all applicable codes, regulations, governmentalagency, and company directives related to building operations and worksafety.
  • Lead operations, assign work orders, and provide technicaland procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors. Arranges forsubcontractors as needed.
  • Consult with clients to schedule preventive maintenanceduring downtime to cut business interruption and inconvenience. Plan apreventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systemsmeet or exceed their rated life.
  • Check building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, andplumbing to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities andachieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by engineering staffto make sure the work is complete; equipment is functioning properly, andclient space is in great working condition.
  • Respond to emergency situations and ask for help when needed.
  • Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, bettermethods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.
  • Showcase expertise in own job discipline and in-depthknowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function.
  • Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise inmost or all areas within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent withCBRE RISE values. Anticipate potential objections and persuades others, oftenat senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point ofview.
  • Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, orservice objectives across multidiscipline teams. Work is guided by functionalpolicies which impact the design of procedures and policies.
  • Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and/oroperational plans in support of achieving functional goals.
What You’ll Need:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8years of job-related experience. Inlieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will beconsidered. Prior shift manager orsupervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role includingstooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability tolift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • The innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyondexisting solutions.
  • Ability to solve unique problems using standard andinnovative solutions having a broad impact on the business.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook,etc.
  • Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitivemindset.
  • Highly sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate somewhat complex figuressuch as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

The minimum salary for the position is or $55.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the position is $75.00 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
