The Boathouse, part of the Bean Restaurant Group family of restaurants, is one of the premier waterfront dining destinations on the beautiful Connecticut River. Our menu focuses on New England Classics as well as seasonal menu offerings crafted by Chef Gesner Lefevre.

The Boathouse is looking for a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about food and cooking, has a strong desire to learn, and will have an understanding of what it takes to execute exceptional food in a high volume atmosphere. We are looking for someone detail-oriented, who enjoys working with a close-knit team, and who takes pride in producing incredible product and an overall outstanding guest experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sous Chef is responsible for managing all daily operations of the kitchen including ordering and inventory, scheduling, expediting, and the performance management of employees. In addition, the Sous Chef helps optimize profits within food and labor costs to ensure that the heart of the house is operating at peak efficiency. The Sous Chef reports directly to the General Manager and the Executive Chef. Kitchen safety protocol and health code standards fall under your umbrella as well.

WORK SCHEDULE & PAY

This full-time position includes day and evening shifts as well as weekend shifts.
Typical work week is 50 hours on average
Base salary $55K - $60K/year plus additional quarterly bonus

QUALIFICATIONS

Passion for food
A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a keen willingness to learn
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time
Two years experience preferred, but we will train the right restaurant candidate who shows a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
