Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Tender to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will work closely with Machine Operators to ensure the smooth operation and handling of machinery, without direct involvement in machine operation. This is for a person who is mechanically inclined but seeking a company that will give a chance in a manufacturing sector.

Responsibilities

• Unload and load machines, ensuring materials are transferred efficiently.
• Remove finished products and transport them to the next staging area.
• Perform minor preventive maintenance tasks, including oil and fluid changes.
• Engage in tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and mopping to maintain a clean workspace.
• Move raw materials and remove finished products from bins.
• Monitor machines during operator breaks without operating them.
• Follow strict company policies on machine handling and task execution.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of mechanical experience.
• Proven track record of reliable attendance.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of machine operations.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 years of experience in assembly or machine operations.
• Ability to complete a math and mechanical aptitude test.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing environment where safety is a top priority. You will work side by side with an assigned Machine Operator, following their direction to support daily operations. The work requires physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods in a dynamic setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
