About SimpliSafe

We’re a high-tech home security company that’s passionate about protecting the life you’ve built and our mission of keeping Every Home Secure. And we’ve created a culture here that cares just as deeply about the career you’re building. Ours is a no ego culture of collaboration and innovation where those seeking their next challenge can find big opportunities and make a huge impact on the lives of all those who we protect. We don’t just want you to work here. We want you to grow and thrive here.

We’re embracing a hybrid work model that enables our teams to split their time between office and home. Hybrid for us means we expect our teams to come together in our state-of-the-art office on two core days, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday – working together in person and choosing where they work for the remainder of the week. We all benefit from flexibility and get to use the best of both worlds to get our work done.

Why are we hiring?

SimpliSafe is continuing to expand the capabilities of our connected security platform to support a growing ecosystem of devices, services, and customer experiences. We’re looking for strong product managers to define and evolve the foundational platform capabilities that enable reliable, scalable, and intuitive end-to-end customer experiences.

We are hiring a Senior Product Manager, Core Platform Services & Firmware to own the foundational platform capabilities that every SimpliSafe experience depends on. This role defines and drives the roadmap across core cloud systems for device communication and alarm handling, on-device firmware behavior, and the backend services that support monitoring, diagnostics, OTA updates, and long-term system reliability.

About the Role

Core platform services and firmware form the foundation of every SimpliSafe device, experience, and operational workflow. As a Senior Product Manager in this role, you will define the strategy and roadmap for core platform capabilities, ensuring that backend and firmware investments translate into measurable improvements in reliability, scalability, and customer trust.

You will partner across Firmware, Backend, App, Monitoring, Hardware, and Customer Experience teams to anticipate downstream impacts, align interdependent roadmaps, and make platform decisions that remain reliable as the system scales.

What You’ll Do

Own Core Platform Strategy

  • Define and own the roadmap for core platform services and firmware capabilities.

  • Establish clear outcomes and KPIs for platform reliability, performance, and system health.

Lead Cross-Stack Alignment

  • Partner closely with Firmware and Backend engineering teams to shape priorities and drive cohesive platform outcomes.

  • Coordinate platform changes across App, Monitoring, Hardware, and Customer Experience teams to ensure holistic execution and delivery.

  • Own end-to-end system behaviour across firmware, backend, and downstream experiences to ensure cohesive customer-facing experiences.

Use Data to Improve Reliability

  • Leverage telemetry, diagnostics, and customer insights to identify systemic issues and prioritize meaningful platform improvements.

  • Partner with Data and Engineering teams to define, monitor, and evolve platform health metrics that reflect real-world device behavior and customer impact.

  • Ensure instrumentation across the platform enables rapid diagnosis, safe recovery, and continuous improvement across the device fleet.

Advocate for the End-to-End Experience

  • Champion customer trust by ensuring platform decisions improve predictability and resilience.

  • Think holistically about how low-level system behavior impacts installation, day-to-day use, monitoring, and support experiences.

  • Balance technical constraints, operational realities, and customer impact when making tradeoffs.

What You Bring

  • 5–8+ years of product management experience owning platform services, backend infrastructure, firmware-dependent systems, or connected hardware ecosystems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with firmware, embedded systems, and backend engineering teams.

  • Proven track record of delivering platform or system-level improvements that materially improved reliability, performance, or customer experience.

  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data and telemetry to prioritize work and measure outcomes.

  • Clear communicator who can translate complex technical topics into customer and business impact.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, making tradeoffs, and coordinating across teams with shared dependencies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred.

Why This Role Matters

This role determines the reliability and evolvability of SimpliSafe’s core platform. By owning the services and firmware that every device and experience depends on, you enable teams across the company to innovate faster, operate more reliably, and deliver consistent, trustworthy customer experiences.
