Position Overview
The Sales Associate is an entry level position responsible for supporting sales growth and operational effectiveness through a combination of internal enablement and customer facing activities. This role emphasizes both development opportunities and tactical execution, ensuring robust pipeline management and seamless customer engagement in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Development Focus

Individuals will have the chance to build foundational knowledge relevant to sales enablement and customer engagement, setting the stage for career advancement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Facing Responsibilities
- Participate in development opportunities to build knowledge of business development and internal sales operations.
- Maintain data integrity and support forecasting activities by updating and managing Salesforce records.
- Learn Level 2 (L2) revenue streams and how to manage an L2 sales funnel.
- Own the development of internal proposals, ensuring timely creation and coordination for various offerings.
- Acquire expertise in proposal processes for different solution types and manage associated documentation.
- Coordinate with service stakeholders to align resources and gather necessary information for sales pursuits.
- Develop a strong understanding of internal structures, roles, and functions; communicate effectively to facilitate internal selling.
- Collaborate with Emerson on tactical requests such as processing discount requests, preparing ORB materials, and collecting data to support sales initiatives.
- Engage with Solution Architects and Sales Enablement teams to collect and organize collateral for sales pursuits.
- Support Sales Revenue Operations through reporting, analytics, and leadership support activities.
- Assist in the account strategy and planning process, including research, updating planning artifacts, and supporting regular review cycles.
Customer Facing Responsibilities
- Support Sales Missions by identifying new contacts, scheduling meetings, and managing follow-up with internal partners on post-meeting actions.
- Proactively source and qualify prospective new contacts to expand sales opportunities.
- Lead tactical sales missions as directed by sales leads, driving execution toward key objectives.
- Respond promptly to tactical proposal requests and information requests from customers.
- Assist with customer budget requests by gathering data and developing responses aligned with customer needs.
- Manage logistics for customer engagements, including meeting preparation, catering, note-taking, and follow-up on assigned actions.
- Lead or support execution of annual recurring revenue (ARR) initiatives, depending on project needs.
- Lead planning and execution of customer road shows and seminars to drive engagement and promote solution offerings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in engineering or technical field required.
- Prior sales experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical and organizational abilities, with keen attention to detail in supporting sales pipeline and operational tasks.
- Comfort with learning new technology platforms, including CRM systems (such as Salesforce).
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Adaptability, initiative, and willingness to learn business processes and core offerings.
