Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will drive TPM and Continuous Improvement strategies while partnering closely with production teams to deliver world-class performance in Safety, Quality, Cost, and Service.

As the factory prepares to grow and introduce new technology, the Process Engineer will play a key role in supporting line transitions, optimizing performance, and building team capability. This is a highly visible, floor-focused position requiring a "go see, think, do" approach, strong execution skills, and the ability to influence and support a workforce of approximately 130 employees.

The ideal candidate combines manufacturing process expertise with a passion for problem-solving, team development, and driving sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of team capabilities, ensuring the workforce has the skills, flexibility, and succession plans needed to meet current and future business objectives through coaching, competency matrices, and development plans.
  • Coach, train, and assess team members to build the skills and capabilities required for operational excellence.
  • Drive the consistent application of standards and methodologies, fostering autonomy, accountability, and ownership at the front-line level.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of operational data, including consumptions, nominal speeds, and stoppage classifications.
  • Analyze safety, quality, downtime, and material loss trends; prioritize opportunities and develop improvement plans in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Line Performance Management and Engineering teams to prioritize resources and execute production and maintenance plans while driving TPM and the 7 Key Standard Routines.
  • Lead and facilitate operational reviews that embed a continuous improvement mindset and support delivery of the Operational Master Plan (OMP).
  • Develop line strategies and priorities that support OMP objectives across Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Cost.
  • Support Production Supervisors in workforce capability development and succession planning for operators and line leads.
  • Lead continuous improvement and capital investment projects, serving as the Operations Start-Up Lead (OSL) when required.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate manufacturing trials to support process optimization and innovation.
  • Serve as a backup to the Production Manager as needed.
  • Champion a "Zero Injury, Zero Defect, Zero Waste" culture by promoting safe behaviors, risk awareness, quality excellence, and environmental stewardship through active coaching and engagement.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the factory through effective employee engagement and positive industrial relations practices.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering degree preferred. Degrees in Business, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related disciplines will also be considered. An MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably within the food, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated initiative, a passion for continuous improvement, and a proven ability to coach, develop, and engage teams.
  • Experience applying Continuous Improvement methodologies such as GSTD, DMAIC, and PDCA.
  • Proven ability to implement standards, monitor adherence, and challenge existing processes to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Strong leadership, team development, and operational management skills.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) implementation preferred.
  • Project management experience with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of SAP, DMO, or other manufacturing systems is preferred.
  • Strong influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance daily operational challenges while maintaining a forward-looking, strategic focus.
