What You’ll Do

SimpliSafe is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a backend focus to join our Authorization and Messaging Platform team. We embrace modern software design and
craftsmanship, and support and own our work through its entire lifecycle. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the messaging tools and CIAM platform that our engineering
staff use every day to build our products that keep our customers safe — everything from day-to-day bug squashing, to the technical design and architecture of authorization
and messaging products.

What You’ll Bring

● Candidates should have experience successfully shipping complex, highly scalable applications that require coordination with other engineering teams and product owners.
● Experience developing applications with either or both Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) systems (Auth0, Keycloak, Cognito, Firebase, etc), or distributed data stores for messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc)
● A solid understanding in core web and browser concepts (e.g. how the browser parses and constructs a web page)
● Writing web services at scale using at least one of Nodejs, Rust, Java, Go,Python
● Extensive experience with REST and web technology.
Nice-to-Haves:
● Previous coding experience in Rust is a huge plus as we are nourishing a Rust ecosystem within the company.
● Experience working on products in safety-critical environments.
● Extensive experience as a practitioner of continuous integration & delivery, test automation, etc.
● Experience with cloud technologies and relevant methodologies such as infrastructure-as-code, DevOps, etc.
