Health service administrator
Correctional Psychiatric Services is currently seeking a Registered Nurse Health Services Administrator (HSA) to work in a correctional setting at the Suffolk County House of Correction. The (HSA) is a professional administrator who manages and evaluates the Health Care Delivery Program in accordance with State and Local Regulations; ensures medical, dental, and mental health program activities are based upon goals, objectives, aims, and policies and procedures of CPS and the facility; and are compliant with ACA, NCCHC and State accreditation standards. - Directs members of the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop, implement, monitor, and maintain healthcare service and continuity of care.
- Maintain communication and a good working relationship with team members, facility administration, correctional personnel, contracted providers, and outside agencies.
- Develop, utilize, revise, maintain and implement policies and procedures that conform to current standards of correctional healthcare practice and operational policies while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participates in recruitment and selection of medical and treatment staff to maintain sufficient, qualified staffing levels
- Monitors, reviews and evaluates the performance of assigned staff and submits written evaluations for all applicable staff
- Evaluate financial and statistical data, program needs and problems, and makes recommendations for improvements
- Ensures medication and treatment orders are followed correctly and in compliance with state practice acts and legal principles
- Plans and manages work schedule for the medical and treatment team to meet program requirements
- Monitor subcontracted services to include pharmacy, lab, x-ray, and specialty providers
Job Salary Range: $135,000 - $150,000

Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration.
- Three (3) or more years administrative, management and supervisory experience. Delivery and administration of correctional medical, dental, and mental health care recommended
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain agency security clearance
- Experience in the administration of ambulatory care services.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Organizational experience in operations and short-term and long-term planning, budgeting, and contracting.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
