Part-Time Front Desk Assistant ($25/hr)

We are seeking a Part-Time Front Desk Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors in a dynamic academic office environment. This role offers the opportunity to develop administrative and customer service skills while supporting office operations and events.

The schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday 10:00am-3:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist students, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
• Manage incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct callers appropriately
• Support daily office operations, including scheduling, event logistics, and financial processing
• Assist with event registration, catering coordination, and preparation of event materials
• Track tutor timesheets and assist with reporting requirements

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience coordinating events in an academic or professional setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional, customer-focused approach with a warm and welcoming demeanor
• Must be ok with working on-site in Cambridge, MA
• Open to a part-time schedule Monday-Thursday

Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge of financial processing and general office systems
• Basic skills in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
• Background working in a higher education or academic environment
