Job Overview:As a Manual machinist, you will be responsible for operating manual machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machines such as milling machines, lathes, and grinders
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers to ensure accuracy of finished parts.
- Preform machining operations including drilling, turning, milling, and grinding.
- Inspect finished parts for quality and make necessary adjustments.
- Assemble components using hand and power tools.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Education and Experience
- Highschool diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in operating milling machines, lathes, grinders and other manual machines is required.
- Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Strong knowledge of manual machining techniques and processes.
- Experience writing G programs for 3-5 axis milling centers is a plus.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and bore gauges.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to use power tools and hand tools effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Knowledge of Fanuc programming is preferred but not required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
