As an NFS Capital VP of Business Development, you will have the opportunity to influence company growth at a national level, develop strategic partnerships, and work alongside our credit, underwriting, legal, and asset management teams to structure successful financing solutions.
Job Summary
NFS Capital is seeking a highly skilled Vice President, Business Development Specialist with deep industry experience in one or more of the following sectors:
Target Industry Specializations
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Equipment: Transformers, servers, GPU’s, generators, datacenter infrastructure, cooling cabinets
- Construction
- Equipment: Cranes, yellow iron (excavators, bulldozers, etc.), arborists, and heavy machinery
- Medical & Life Sciences
- Equipment: Imaging systems, diagnostic devices, and scientific equipment
- Robotics & Automation
- Equipment: Packaging systems, shrink-wrapping lines, automated box/parcel systems
This role is responsible for generating new equipment financing business, cultivating vendor and manufacturer relationships, and driving revenue through strategic deal origination. The VP will utilize industry knowledge, equipment expertise, and financial acumen to structure lease and loan solutions that meet customer needs and align with NFS Capital’s credit appetite.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Relationship Management
- Identify, develop, and manage high-value relationships with vendors, manufacturers, integrators, and end-users within assigned industry verticals.
- Generate new originations by uncovering equipment financing opportunities, building a pipeline of qualified deals, and driving them to close.
- Serve as a trusted industry advisor, leveraging deep equipment and sector knowledge to position NFS Capital as a preferred financing partner.
- Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to increase brand visibility and expand strategic partnerships.
Equipment Expertise & Market Knowledge
- Maintain strong understanding of equipment specifications, use-cases, lifecycles, and resale values in the targeted industries.
- Analyze market trends to identify growth opportunities and emerging customer segments.
- Educate internal teams on industry nuances, equipment performance, and risk considerations.
Deal Structuring & Financial Solutions
- Collaborate with credit, underwriting, contracts, legal, and asset management teams to design competitive and compliant financing structures.
- Prepare proposals, term sheets, and presentations tailored to the customer’s financial needs and operational objectives.
- Negotiate deal terms to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction and long-term relationship value.
Pipeline & Territory Management
- Manage an active, organized pipeline of opportunities in CRM (Salesforce).
- Track performance metrics, forecasts, and strategic initiatives to ensure origination goals are met or exceeded.
- Provide timely updates to leadership regarding deal status, market changes, and production achievements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal stakeholders to navigate deal progression from origination through funding.
- Support company-wide initiatives to enhance products, marketing, client experience, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of business development, sales, or financing experience in equipment-heavy industries (AI infrastructure, construction, medical/life sciences, or robotics/automation).
- Proven success in equipment financing, capital markets, commercial lending, or related fields.
- Deep knowledge of equipment types listed above, including use-case, value, and acquisition considerations.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage complex, consultative sales cycles.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, conferences, and site visits.
Preferred
- Existing vendor or manufacturer relationships within target verticals.
- Experience structuring mid-ticket or large-ticket financing transactions.
- Working understanding credit, underwriting, or asset valuation.

Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on experience, including a base salary plus commission/incentive opportunities aligned with production performance.
