Special Education Paraprofessional - Wahconah Regional High School

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Experience working with high school age students desirable.
• First Aid/CPR certification desirable.
• Experience with students with disabilities required.
• Able to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Experience working with students with a variety of learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to follow teacher direction.
• Requires patience and flexibility.
• Ability to interact and take direction from a variety of professionals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist classroom teacher and/or special education teacher in implementing accommodations and/or modifications for students requiring such supports.
• Assist general and special education teachers in collecting data on student progress.
• Collaborate with other staff in implementing behavioral intervention plans, as needed.
• Support student independence through the acquisition of skills and strategies.
• Other duties may be assigned by the building principal or superintendent. Hours will be assigned by the principal.

Principal and/or other Supervisor

SALARY:

$16.84 to $22.32 per hour in accordance with paraprofessional contract
