Nurse Director Women and Children Services

Reporting to the CNO, the Nurse Director Women’s and Children’s Services is a strategic nurse leader responsible for the clinical operations and patient outcomes across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum/Mother–Baby, Special Care Nursery, and Pediatric inpatient/outpatient services, driving maternal-child health excellence through evidence-based practice, compassionate family-centered care, and regulatory compliance. Daily responsibilities include leading interdisciplinary huddles and patient rounding; managing staffing, scheduling, and acuity-based assignments; mentoring charge nurses and educators; conducting competency validation and performance evaluations; overseeing budgets, productivity, and supply chain; monitoring quality and safety metrics; ensuring readiness for The Joint Commission, CMS, and state surveyors; optimizing EHR workflows and throughput from triage to discharge; coordinating with OB/GYN, pediatrics, anesthesia, lactation, and social work; spearheading performance improvement, Baby-Friendly and Magnet-related initiatives; championing patient experience and service recovery; and developing policies, prenatal education, and community outreach to grow the Women’s and Children’s service line.
What's Needed to Succeed:
- Degree from an accredited Nursing program
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse RN in the state of New Hampshire or ability to obtain upon hire
- Proven clinical leadership in an obstetric setting
