BETA is seeking a knowledgeable Potable Water Project Manager . In this role, the Project Manager will manage and work alongside industry-leading engineers on high-profile potable water treatment facility, pumping station, and distribution system infrastructure projects for a largely municipal client base. This position will play a key role in the continued growth of our firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing and overseeing modeling/master planning and technical designs, managing projects from conceptual to final design, overseeing the preparation of contract plans and documents, mentoring staff, and executing client management activities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from scope development, budgeting, and scheduling through design and construction phase services for a variety of potable water planning treatment, conveyance and distribution projects
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring successful delivery of complex water supply, treatment, and distribution improvements
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams on projects involving water treatment plant upgrades, expansions, rehabilitation projects, new facility developments, source water systems, storage facilities, pump stations, and distribution network upgrades
- Work with staff to prepare planning studies, technical evaluations, hydraulic analyses, detailed engineering designs, and construction contract documents
- Oversee the design of water treatment systems and processes, including filtration, disinfection, chemical feed systems, and water quality improvement projects
- Produce high-quality engineering reports, designs, specifications, and models while ensuring adherence to quality control standards and regulatory requirements
- Mentor and develop engineering staff by providing technical guidance, reviewing work products, and supporting professional growth
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery
- Guide project meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and project teams
- Negotiate contracts, develop scopes of work, and manage project financial performance
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and pursuit of new potable water opportunities
- Stay current with emerging water treatment technologies & regulatory trends
- Represent the organization in industry forums and professional associations, leveraging technical innovations and industry knowledge to support project success
Preferred location is BETA’s Norwood office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.

Required Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 15+ years of related engineering experience in potable water projects
- Project Management experience
- Knowledge of and experience with the implementation of planning, design, bidding and construction oversight of potable water projects
- Skilled in writing and ability to prepare formal reports
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Must be able to collect field data and measurements and perform asset inspections for water and wastewater infrastructure, in addition to roadway and other utility assets;
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Experience/Skills :
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and ArcGIS/Pro
- OSHA Certifications (ie: OSHA 10-Construction)
