Wound Care RN Job Details

• Location: Cambridge, MA (02138) – Massachusetts healthcare jobs
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel Nursing
• Healthcare Setting: On-Site Clinical Facility
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: November 30, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day Shift (8-hour days, Monday–Friday, no weekends)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,620–$2,690 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (required at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent wound care nursing experience
• Certification in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Proficiency with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite
• EPIC electronic health record experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (declinations not accepted)
• Travel nursing candidates only – local applicants not accepted
• Must not have worked at any Beth Israel facility (perm, travel, or per diem) within the past 6 months

Wound Care Nurse Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care with physicians and healthcare providers from referral through discharge and follow-up
• Serve as a primary contact and facilitator for wound care consults, patient information, and scheduling of consultations, diagnostics, and treatment procedures
• Gather and document patient history, perform physical assessments, and complete evaluations
• Assist in ordering labs, x-rays, and diagnostic procedures as part of clinical support
• Educate patients and families on wound care management and assist in developing educational materials
• Participate in patient rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives
• Lead NDNQI quarterly pressure injury prevalence survey efforts within the hospital
• Act as a clinical expert and liaison for skin and wound-related serious reportable events
• Maintain annual mandatory education and demonstrate ongoing professional responsibility
