The position manages all HPN’s ongoing funder relationships, leads philanthropic strategy, and oversees all funder reporting. The VP, Philanthropy reports to the EVP, Chief of Staff and oversees two direct reports while building and leading a growing team.

- In collaboration with subject matter experts and program leaders, develop and execute a plan to achieve HPN’s private fundraising goals and raise specialized resources for HPN’s business lines, peer exchange, R&D activities, and select social enterprises, including Housing Partnership Fund, an affiliate Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
- Lead development and oversee implementation of customized strategies for outreach, diversification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of all prospects and donors.
- Ensure that there is a robust pipeline of new prospects for support through research, engagement with the HPN members, staff leadership/content experts, industry events, associations and work with consultants.
- Ensure strategic fundraising alignment and oversee success execution all aspects of fundraising operations including the use of the Salesforce database for prospect and donor research and tracking, proposal and report development and submission, the coordination of acknowledgements, and other follow-up/stewardship activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrated experience leading and evaluating a fundraising function that includes strategy, institutional development, proposal development, donor relationship management, and grant reporting.
- Strong verbal communications and excellent writing skills with an ability to craft and supervise development of high-quality proposals, reports, donor correspondence, and other materials that support fundraising.
- Experience preferred with raising capital to support business lines or new product development, and demonstrated success working with family offices, foundations and financial institutions.

- Management experience and desire to lead a growing Philanthropy team, willingness to coach fundraising best practices and model collaborative behaviors across internal teams.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with a demonstrated ability to plan and work independently and flexibly in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborative nature and ability to lead a team while working across teams and maintaining accountability and responsibility for goals as an independent individual is critical.
