We're a boutique criminal defense law firm with nearly 30 years of practice in Beverly, Massachusetts, serving the North Shore and greater Boston area. This is a ground-floor opportunity with a growing practice. We're at an exciting inflection point — expanding our geographic reach and ready to take our marketing to the next level. The right person will grow with us.
We're looking for someone who wants to build something, not just maintain it. As our firm grows, this role can expand in both hours and scope. What starts as 10 hours per week could become 20+ hours, and the responsibilities will evolve based on what's working and where your talents lie.
Position Overview
We're seeking a resourceful, self-directed Marketing Manager who combines solid execution skills with creative thinking. This role focuses on creating social media and video content, coordinating with our marketing vendors, and monitoring our marketing performance — but it's more than that.
We want someone who will bring ideas to the table. You'll have the freedom to conceive, suggest, and implement new marketing campaigns and methods. See an opportunity we're missing? Propose it. We'll provide reference examples and guidance to get you started, but we're not looking for someone who only follows instructions — we want a creative partner who can help us figure out what works.
You don't need to be a creative visionary on day one, but you should be curious, willing to experiment, and excited about helping us grow.
Key Responsibilities
The mix of responsibilities will evolve based on what's working and where your strengths lie. Initially, you can expect to focus on:
Creative Development & Campaign Ideas
- Conceive, propose, and implement new marketing campaigns and initiatives
- Identify untapped marketing opportunities and bring ideas to leadership
- Experiment with new content formats, platforms, and outreach methods
- Adapt successful approaches from other firms while developing our unique voice
Social Media Content Creation
- Create engaging social media content across platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube)
- Grow and strengthen our social media presence across platforms
- Maintain consistent posting schedule with autonomy over timing and approach
- Monitor engagement and adjust content based on performance
Video Content Creation
- Create video content from concept through distribution
- Coordinate filming of educational content, firm updates, and client stories
- Manage video editing, optimization, and distribution across platforms
- Build and maintain active YouTube presence
Vendor Coordination & Performance Monitoring
- Serve as primary liaison with digital marketing agency and web designer
- Coordinate projects, timelines, and deliverables
- Review marketing dashboards and prepare performance summaries
- Support professional networking and referral development initiatives
What This Role Is NOT
To ensure clarity, this role does not include:
- Solving technical attribution problems (already handled by vendors)
- Building data integrations or complex analytics systems
- Managing paid advertising campaigns
- Writing all website content (Ernest generates content)
- Building website pages (web designer handles execution)
Required QualificationsExperience & Skills
- 3+ years of marketing experience with demonstrated results
- Strong social media content creation skills across platforms
- Video content creation and editing experience
- Creative thinking — ability to generate and pitch new ideas
- Self-directed with ability to work independently without supervision
- Excellent written and visual communication skills
- Portfolio demonstrating marketing work
