We are searching for a Lab Pack Field Chemist within an environmental services firm. The ideal candidate will have waste pack disposal experience in a field setting. This position offers ample over-time (not required).

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Lab Pack Chemist to join our field services team. In this hands-on role, you’ll work directly at client sites to identify, classify, sample, and package waste materials for proper transportation and disposal. This position plays a critical role in ensuring both safety and regulatory compliance, while helping our customers manage their waste streams efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Perform onsite inventories and evaluations of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste.
- Accurately identify and classify a wide variety of laboratory and industrial chemicals.
- Conduct field sampling and basic analytical testing to assess unknown materials.
- Package chemicals safely and efficiently for transport under DOT regulations.
- Prepare detailed documentation including manifests, labels, and Bills of Lading (BOLs).
- Ensure all work complies with applicable federal, state, and local regulations (EPA, DOT, OSHA).
- Coordinate with customers, internal teams, and disposal vendors to execute projects smoothly.
- Optimize each project for safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in hazardous waste handling, lab packing, or environmental fieldwork.
- Solid working knowledge of DOT and EPA hazardous waste regulations.
- Experience with waste characterization, material sampling, and regulatory paperwork.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred; training available if needed).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally within MA, RI, NH, and CT.
