Are you a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) dedicated to helping residents regain their voice and functional independence? Your Clinical Impact: Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Care: Perform evaluative and therapeutic procedures for communication disorders and dysphagia (including modified barium swallows).
- Individualized Planning: Establish therapeutic plans of care with functional long- and short-term goals, seeking input from residents and caregivers.
- Collaborative Consultation: Act as a resource for physicians and the interdisciplinary team regarding resident progress and discharge needs.
- Education: Provide vital instruction to residents and families on the use of assistive devices and compensatory strategies.
- Program Development: Assist in developing new speech therapy services and providing in-services to nursing and other departments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Licensure: Active SLP license in good standing in Massachusetts.
- Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required; BLS preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility is preferred.
- Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a compassionate, resident-centered approach.
