Faculty Developer (Senior Special Program Coordinator), Center for Teaching, Learning and Innovation MCCC Unit Professional position, Grade 5 Campus Location: Danvers/Remote (Hybrid) Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 4:30 pm SALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $70,929.00 - $74,000.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. Click HERE for a highlight of these benefits. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Serves as a key member of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation (CTLI) staff. In collaboration with the Director and CTLI staff, design, coordinate, and facilitate professional development opportunities for faculty (e.g. workshops, orientations, learning communities, reading groups, etc.) to support the culture of teaching and learning through innovative, equitable, and high-impact practices. Provide personalized support to instructors on their teaching, including consultation, coaching, and feedback to advance teaching practice. Design and disseminate resources for instructors that connect education research and practice. Advance a culture of inclusion, dialogue, reflection, and belonging with and among faculty, students, and staff. Work with faculty to ensure that online course components meet digital accessibility requirements. Manage CTLI event and program logistics, including sign up forms, room reservations, attendance, assessment, etc. Available to work evenings and weekends as necessary to facilitate faculty professional development and support. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with CTLI staff and faculty mentors to design, coordinate, and facilitate professional development opportunities for both full-time and part-time faculty (e.g. workshops, orientations, learning communities, short courses, reading groups, etc.) to support a culture of teaching and learning through innovative, equitable, and high-impact practices.
- Support faculty in developing pedagogical strategies that contribute to effective teaching and learning. Consult with faculty from a variety of disciplines on teaching and learning topics, including inclusion and belonging. Provide personalized support, coaching, and feedback as requested to instructors on their teaching to advance effective teaching practice.
- Work with faculty to ensure that digital course components meet accessibility requirements. Develop materials to support faculty in creating accessible digital course materials. Design and facilitate professional development around creating accessible digital course materials.
- Develop materials and resources that encourage the use of effective, evidence-based teaching and assessment strategies, including equitable instructional practices.
- Maintain a dynamic resource online repository pertaining to teaching and learning, curriculum design/redesign, course development, technology, and innovative practices. Resources may include trainings, tutorials, user guides, newsletter articles, asynchronous workshop videos, video resources, checklists, and tips.
- Manage CTLI professional learning event and program logistics, including sign up forms, room reservations, attendance tracking, assessment, etc. Create mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of the professional learning opportunities. Prepare reports as requested by the Director that show the impact of the CTLI's professional development offerings.
- Work closely with CTLI staff on the design and delivery of departmental programs and activities.
- Participate in college-wide activities and initiatives including governance, special projects, and potential grant initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree in instructional design, educational technology, pedagogy, faculty development, education, assessment, or equivalent required.
- At least three years experience working with higher education faculty across a variety of academic disciplines to improve teaching.
- At least three years of relevant experience designing and delivering successful professional development programs for higher education faculty focused on supporting the culture of teaching and learning through innovative, equitable, and high-impact practices, including inclusion and belonging.
- At least two years of experience teaching college-level courses, preferably in a community college.
- Demonstrated experience and/or working knowledge with a broad range of educational technologies to support teaching and learning as well as professional development with proven willingness and ability to quickly learn new applications. Example applications include Learning Management Systems (Blackboard Learn preferred), Open Education Resources, mobile apps, collaborative tools (Google Workspace preferred), screen capturing, video conference, and presentation technologies.
- Demonstrated understanding of current scholarship and effective practices related to teaching and learning in higher education.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, written and oral communications skills, including superior presentation skills.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to implement multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be creative, collaborative, and flexible; detail oriented, and thrive in a dynamic team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to a high level of customer service.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively with diverse constituencies, showing sensitivity to multicultural and non-traditional populations.
- Available to work in person at our campus in Lynn, MA and Danvers, MA.
- Available and willing to work occasional early mornings, evenings and/or weekends as necessary to facilitate faculty professional development and support.
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
- Experience working in a teaching center or faculty development unit
- Community college teaching experience
- Knowledge of digital accessibility standards and creating course materials to meet those standards
- Bilingual (Spanish)
