You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed. Are you ready to build the future of investment technology? HarbourVest Advisers L.P. is seeking an outstanding VP, Investments Technology to join our dynamic team in Boston, MA. This role is foundational in delivering our plan for technology in the investment domain and ensuring operational excellence across our platforms! The ideal candidate is someone who is:
  • An executive leader within investment or financial services technology.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of investment data and industry standard platforms.
  • Skilled in leading sizable, multi-functional technology groups.
  • Skilled in cloud infrastructures and system consolidation.
  • Experienced in updating technology environments through automation.
  • Outstanding in communication and establishing collaborators.

  • What you will do:
    • Define and complete a multi-year investment technology strategy aligned with the full investment lifecycle.
    • Lead platform modernization initiatives passionate about automation, data quality, scalability, and integration.
    • Provide executive oversight of coordinated investment workflows spanning multiple platforms and technologies.
    • Own platform health and evolution across internal systems and strategic vendor platforms (e.g., Allvue, DealCloud, eFront).
    • Champion AI-supported capabilities and intelligent automation across investment processes.
    • Lead and develop senior technology leaders and multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Act as the primary technology partner to the Enterprise Investment Office and senior investment collaborators.
    • Represent investment technology priorities in firm-wide governance and architecture forums.
    • Other responsibilities as required.
    What you bring:
    • Established senior leadership role within investment, financial services, or FinTech technology settings.
    • In-depth familiarity with investment data flows, investment technology processes, and modern software development practices.
    • Consistent record of leading multi-functional technology organizations.
    • Solid experience in leading all aspects of platform development, cloud infrastructures, and system integration.
    • Experience updating intricate technology environments by means of automation and data services.
    • Outstanding communication, decision-making, and partner engagement skills.
    • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent experience. Preference will be given to candidates who hold an advanced degree or have equivalent experience.
    • Over 15 years of advancing technology leadership experience in Financial Services, FinTech, or Investment Management.
    • Significant experience leading platform transformation, data quality, and integration initiatives.

    Salary Range $156,000.00 - $264,000.00 This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
