Job Title: Heat Treat Operator
Job Description

The heat treat operator plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, responsible for operating a heat treat furnace and using a forklift to load screws into the furnace. This role is physically demanding, requiring the candidate to stand for a minimum of 8 hours a day.

Responsibilities

• Operate the heat treat furnace to process screws.
• Use a forklift to load screws into the furnace.
• Ensure the proper functioning of heat treat equipment.
• Stand and perform duties for at least 8 hours daily.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and inclination.
• Experience with machine operation, ideally in a heat treat operator role.
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in racking, construction, or stamping press.
• Prior experience in pipes, HVAC, or plumbing which is transferable to heat treating.
• Oil change and general mechanical knowledge.

Work Environment

Work within a state-of-the-art heat treat facility, standing for 12 hours during weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays. Collaborate with fellow heat treat operators in a temperature-controlled environment as new racking rooms are constructed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
