Location: Lowell, IN
Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday (with flexibility for early arrival and extended hours as needed)

The Role
We're seeking a strategic and compassionate HR Generalist to join our growing team. You'll be the backbone of our human resources operations, managing everything from recruitment and employee relations to compliance and talent development. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with managers to identify skills and competencies required for open positions, ensuring we're building the right team
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified candidates for vacant positions, managing the full recruitment lifecycle
- Build community connections through participation in local career fairs, chamber of commerce events, and partnerships with high schools and colleges
- Monitor staffing metrics including fill rates and turnover, providing insights to improve retention and hiring efficiency
- Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors with professionalism and confidentiality, escalating complex matters appropriately
- Administer and execute comprehensive HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave management, performance reviews, talent development, recognition, occupational health and safety, and training initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review and update employee manuals, policies, and job descriptions regularly
- Stay current with HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in human resources and employment law
- Support additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience in a leadership role
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a Human Resources-related position
- Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws
- Proven ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with employees at all levels
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional) certification
- Experience in the food manufacturing or production industry
- Background in recruiting and talent acquisition
