Maintenance Technician - four evenings

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join our client, a respected Leominster based manufacturer, on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing production machinery and site equipment to ensure minimum down time and production efficiency.

Junior candidates with existing basic maintenance experience and a willingness to learn and develop, are encouraged to apply as training and mentorship will be offered.

What you can expect:

• Hourly rate: £19.75 per hour including shift allowance
• Evening shift: Monday to Thursday (13:45 - 23:45) and Monday to Thursday, with additional overtime available on Fridays and Weekends
• Annual leave: 23 days plus bank holidays

What you will be doing:

• Ensuring H&S policies are strictly adhered to within an industrial manufacturing environment
• Working with the engineering team to provide a complete maintenance service and attend weekly engineering meetings
• First line immediate response to site and equipment breakdowns
• Accurate diagnosis of faults and reasons for failures
• Accurately dismantling and reassembling of machinery and equipment
• Reviewing method statements and risk assessments
• Support the engineering team in the production of professional engineering maintenance documentation
• Provide accurate information assisting the generation of technical purchase orders
• Fabrication of simple stands, guarding, and tables etc
• MIG and ARC Welding support maybe required on occasions
• Providing support to the production team during peak times
• Coaching and developing other members of the team

What we are looking for:

• Existing maintenance engineering/technician experience preferred
• Mechanically minded
• Hands on experience of welding an advantage
• Understanding of current H&S legislation and practices
• Computer literate
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
• Collaborative person who works in partnership with others
• Problem solves and makes decision whilst remaining calm under pressure
