Preschool Lead Teacher

Position: Preschool Lead Teacher Sacred Heart Early Childhood Center School

Reports to: Principal, Sacred Heart Elementary School, Kingston, MA and the Director of the Early Childhood Center

Position Overview:

We are looking for energetic, kind, and creative individuals to join our amazing team of teachers at our beautiful Early Childhood Center! Previous classroom experience as a lead teacher is required.

Primary responsibilities include:

• creating a nurturing and safe learning environment for 3 year old children
• following the established curriculum
• attend trainings throughout the year
• lead and manage a class of 3 year old children, and plan engaging activities and crafts
• supervise children when on the playground
• create a calming environment during rest time
• attend staff meetings

Qualifications and Experience:

• Associate Degree or higher preferred
• State EEC certification preschool lead teacher qualified
• At least 2 years experience in a 3 year old classroom
• Familiarity with theories and practices of child development
• Knowledgeable of first aid and emergency procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Analytical skills, able to observe a child and recognize, and develop a plan to deal with issues, if they exist.
• Conflict resolution skills.
• Stress management skills
• Highly organized, able to manage time well, and a good decision-maker.

This position would begin on December 8th and last until June 12th. We follow the public school vacation schedule. Contracts are renewed in June.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $35,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
