The Role
The Veeva Compass Strategy team is seeking an entrepreneurial, highly driven Strategist with a passion for client engagement and deep, recent expertise in the Payer data space within the biopharma and biotech markets.
As the Strategy Lead for Compass Payer —an upcoming, high-visibility launch within the Compass product suite—you will essentially act as the "CEO" for this product line, taking full ownership of its commercial success in the market.
In this role, you will develop, iterate, and execute a comprehensive go-to-market plan. You will collaborate closely with Data Cloud Account Partners and Compass Solution Consulting teams to tailor strategies for individual customer accounts, serving as the ultimate subject-matter expert (SME) in high-stakes customer conversations. This is a pivotal role for the future of the Compass business, offering the opportunity to make a massive, visible impact.
What You'll Do
- Drive Commercial Execution: Lead the go-to-market strategy for Veeva Compass Payer. Map out key targets, partner with Data Cloud Account Partners to navigate stakeholder landscapes, and lead high-impact customer meetings
- Serve as the Subject-Matter Expert: Engage directly with customers as the technical and strategic SME. Clearly articulate our value proposition, confidently handle objections, and demonstrate how Compass Payer solves complex commercial use cases
- Influence the Product Roadmap: Act as the bridge between the market and our developers. Provide strategic input to the Compass Payer product team to shape new features, capabilities, and future growth areas based on real-world customer feedback and market dynamics
- Enable Sales & Marketing: Partner with cross-functional marketing and sales teams to refine product positioning, craft compelling messaging, and empower our sales organization to scale successfully
Requirements
- 15+ Years of Relevant Experience: Proven track record in a professional services organization with a strong focus on consulting, analytics, or commercial services within life sciences
- Deep Life Sciences & Commercial Expertise: Extensive experience working alongside commercial teams, with a strong understanding of omnichannel and customer engagement programs
- Payer Data Domain Mastery: Deep subject-matter expertise in pharmaceutical commercial payer data sets (e.g., payer spine, payer backbone, payer bridging, formulary) and familiarity with key industry benchmarks/platforms (e.g., MMIT, Precision AQ, Fingertip Formulary, IQVIA)
- Executive Presence: Demonstrated ability to build trust and successfully engage with stakeholders at all levels of a client organization, from managers to the C-suite
- Customer-Centric Innovation: A strong track record of actively listening to customer pain points and translating those needs into actionable product innovations and solutions
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional critical thinking, analytical capabilities, and world-class presentation skills
- Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel for customer meetings and internal events, as required

Compensation
- Base pay: $125,000 - $300,000
- The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
