Job Title: Junior Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Manager with a passion for software development environments. This role is perfect for those early in their project management career who have experience working with software teams and understand the dynamics of sprints, releases, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses excellent communication skills to effectively support the project team.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, scheduling, and tracking of software project deliverables against agreed timelines.
• Maintain project plans, backlogs, and status trackers, and flag schedule risks or slipping milestones early.
• Coordinate day-to-day meetings with stakeholders and work collaboratively with both local and offshore project teams to meet deadlines.
• Prepare clear, concise status updates and reports for project stakeholders and leadership.
• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for routine project questions, escalating complex issues to senior project management staff.
• Document meeting notes, decisions, and action items, and ensure follow-up for completion.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including scope notes and status dashboards.
• Support budget and resource tracking under the guidance of a senior project manager.

Essential Skills

• 3 years of experience in a project coordination, project management, or scrum master–adjacent role within a software development environment.
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and how engineering, QA, and product teams interact.
• Proficiency with common project/task management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize technical status for non-technical stakeholders.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple small workstreams simultaneously.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• A fast learner comfortable with picking up new tools, terminology, and team norms quickly.
• Detail-oriented, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks from action items to schedule risks.
• A clear communicator, able to translate technical detail into status updates understandable by non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative, able to build easy working relationships with developers, QA, and product owners.
• Coachable, taking feedback well and eager to grow into a larger project ownership role over time.

Work Environment

This role requires working onsite at the Westford, MA location. The position offers a long-term role with standard benefits and three weeks of paid time off. The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, providing opportunities for growth and development.

This is a Contract position based out of Westford, MA.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Westford,MA.
