About the Role
We are seeking an entry-level Assistant Project Manager to support our Plumbing Department. This role is ideal for candidates who want to build a long-term career in construction project management and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced Project Managers.
The Assistant Project Manager will assist with the coordination and administrative aspects of multiple plumbing projects ranging from small service work to large, complex commercial projects. This is a developmental role with a potential path to Project Manager based on performance, capability, and experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Working under the direction of a Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will:
Assist with project documentation, filing, and digital document control
Prepare, assemble, and distribute project submittals
Assist with permit applications and tracking approvals
Review drawings and specifications to help solicit pricing from vendors
Communicate with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams
Assist with estimating, scheduling, planning, and cost tracking
Support purchasing and material coordination
Assist with project closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, warranties, and O&M manuals
Participate in jobsite visits and coordination meetings as needed
Qualifications
This is an entry-level position. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and interest in construction project management.
Required / Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Vocational, technical, or college coursework in construction, engineering, or a related field is a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and manage priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with construction or accounting software (e.g., Sage Timberline) is a plus
Mechanical aptitude strongly preferred
Prior plumbing or construction exposure is a significant advantage Reliable transportation required (local jobsite travel is part of the role)
Work Environment & Expectations
Full-time, 100% on-site position
Based out of Norwell, MA with occasional travel to local jobsites
Fast-paced, schedule-driven environment requiring accountability and follow-through
No remote or hybrid work available
