Job Title : Project Manager 1
Location : Lexington, Eastern MA. (Job Location Specific)
Pay Range : 110K -150K
USPRO is partnering with a well-established construction management firm active throughout New England and the broader Northeast to fill a Project Manager I opening. In this role, you'll work hand-in-hand with the Lead Superintendent and Project Executive, taking ownership of construction projects across their full lifecycle—from procurement and scheduling to cost oversight, document control, and client-facing reporting. You'll also mentor Assistant Project Managers, helping guide projects from early preconstruction through final closeout.
Candidates with relevant military experience may have certain requirements waived.
Core Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Operations
- Own the day-to-day execution of assigned projects from kickoff to completion
- Review and interpret plans, specs, contracts, and owner agreements
- Manage procurement workflows, submittals, and material delivery coordination
- Build and update project schedules on a monthly basis, including forecasting
- Drive project turnover and closeout processes
Financial & Cost Oversight
- Own buyout activities—scope review, subcontractor negotiation, and award
- Set and maintain project budgets with strong job cost discipline
- Produce monthly cost reports and cost-to-complete projections
- Run quarterly cost review sessions
- Handle owner requisitions, subcontractor pay applications, and change orders
- Track and safeguard project profitability
Stakeholder & Team Communication
- Cultivate strong working relationships with owners, architects, subs, and other project stakeholders
- Deliver consistent, clear project status updates
- Bridge communication between the field team and project management staff
- Maintain positive subcontractor relationships to support repeat business
Safety & Risk Oversight
- Help reinforce a strong jobsite safety culture
- Perform routine safety walkthroughs
- Join weekly safety huddles and contribute to risk management planning
- Confirm subcontractors meet contractual and insurance obligations
Team Leadership
- Mentor and supervise Assistant Project Managers
- Review APM deliverables for quality and accuracy
- Help the broader project team execute successfully
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- 5+ years managing construction projects
- Background with a Construction Manager or General Contractor (CM/GC side)
- Solid grasp of scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost control practices
- Track record managing multiple stakeholders and client relationships
- Strong communicator, leader, and organizer
