Position Title: Donor Care Specialist I

Location: Hyannis, MA 02601

Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time

Shift: Rotating shifts (6:00 AM – 7:00 PM schedule range)

Schedule: Rotational days (6a-2p, 7a-3p, 8a-4p, 9a-5p, 10a-6p, 11a-7p)

Job Summary:
Responsible for donor screening, blood collection, and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures while ensuring donor safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform donor eligibility screening per FDA, CDC, AABB, CAP, and hospital guidelines
• Conduct whole blood collection and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures
• Monitor donors before, during, and after collection for safety and comfort
• Perform blood draws at donor centers and mobile blood drives
• Label, process, and document blood components and samples accurately
• Maintain complete and accurate donor records and EMR documentation
• Support donor recruitment and community outreach activities
• Maintain inventory of supplies and report ordering needs
• Ensure clean, safe, and compliant work environment
• Follow infection control, safety, and hospital protocols
• Provide compassionate donor care and customer service

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Prior phlebotomy experience required
• Blood donor collection experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Phlebotomy certification or training preferred
• Strong communication skills (English required)
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic computer and documentation skills required
