Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist our Global Engineering team (remote).

An Internship/Co-op at Charles River Labs provides global, real world, hands-on experience for college students looking to gain knowledge and skills required for your career field of choice, while giving you an unparalleled internship experience. We are dedicated to ensuring our Co-op/Intern population can experience the ability to Grow, Perform, and Succeed during their time on board.

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support ongoing efforts to develop and enhance the site facility analytics database, participate in project development meetings and be utilized for data collection, data manipulation and results presentation. The intern will work directly with the Charles River Labs Engineering and Sustainability Teams. The intern will also work with project engineering teams to provide assistance as needed for new construction and facility expansion projects.

The intern will have the opportunity to help Charles River Labs in a real-world environment. The position will provide opportunities to present to small groups in a safe and encouraging environment to help build on public speaking and executive presence.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Mechanical Engineering intern position.

  • Student currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Ability to fulfill internship position obligations based on summer break timing, potentially May - August

  • Effective communication and listening skills in a teamwork environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with a strong attention to detail

  • Possess proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa.
