Director Marine
**PRIMARY PURPOSE** **:** To manage and be responsible for the marine department achieving budgeted contribution; to manage a team of adjusters and surveyors and to produce quality claim handling and services.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external customers.
+ Monitors workloads to ensure work is properly allocated.
+ Responds to and resolves complaints.
+ Achieves budgeted margin for department operations.
+ Develops and maintains customer relationships and works with VP of Marine to develop new clientele.
**ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Supports the organization's quality program(s).
+ Travels as required.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.
+ Assists with interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions.
+ Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education & Licensing**
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
**Experience**
Ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
