The Role
As our Human Resources Manager (Retail) you'll be the driving force behind our mission to provide top-notch service, outstanding products, and exceptional experience for both our valued customers and dedicated employees.
From leading a diverse team of dispensary professionals to onboarding, training, and performance management strategies, you'll have the chance to showcase your unparalleled skills and creativity. You'll have a direct hand in propelling our brand to new heights while ensuring that each dispensary location maintains its unique charm and local flair. You will report directly to the Director, Retail Human Resources.
Location: This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in either New Jersey or Massachusetts and ideally be within a comfortable commute to at least 1 store location. This position requires up to 50% travel between dispensary locations in both states.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation to assigned customer organizations and make recommendations on key HR strategies, initiatives, issues, and programs
- Collaborate with cross functional partners to address a variety of topics such as business and workforce planning, performance management, and organizational development
- Collaborate with other HR professionals and line managers to develop effective solutions and strategies to support key objectives
- Counsel assigned customer organizations on interpretation and application of relevant policies and regulations for situation-specific issues
- Facilitate resolution of HR concerns and advise on alternative approaches to resolving issues and opportunities for improvement
- Support and/or lead basic HR process improvements and HR projects, with effective change management principles
- Provide thoughtful and tactful communications with the utmost of diplomacy, treating others with dignity and respect, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
- Partner with VP of Human Resources as needed on union matters
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or other related fields
- 5+ years HR leadership experience in a multi-site retail or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience working in unionized environments, including advising leaders on collective bargaining agreement interpretation, grievance processes, and labor relations matters.
- Certifications from Human Resources professional organizations such as the Society for Human Resource Management, HR Certification Institute, or WorldatWork are a plus
- Demonstrated ability to build solid relationships at all levels including Senior Executives
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus; ability to build relationships, influence and collaborate at all levels
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience coaching and developing staff and leadership
- High level of professionalism, personal integrity and dependability
- Adept at working in a cross-functional environment in a highly collaborative manner
- Extremely organized and able to conceptualize solutions when faced with complex challenges
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel approximately 50%
Work Environment
This position primarily performs duties in both a remote office setting and onsite in a retail dispensary environment.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to sit and regularly use hand(s) to handle, grasp, feel, and or touch. This position is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. This position is required to speak and listen regularly.
