Kennel Attendant

The Kennel Attendant is responsible for the daily care, feeding, and cleaning of animals in a boarding, grooming and day care facility. This role requires compassion for animals, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care for dogs, cats, and other animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising.
• Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a sanitary environment.
• Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, and administering basic medications as directed.
• Handle animals safely and humanely at all times.
• Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and behavior.
• Interact with pet owners in a professional and friendly manner during drop-off and pick-up.
• Follow safety protocols and facility procedures at all times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience working with animals is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift 40+ pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Comfortable working weekends, holidays, and in various weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and love for animals.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to loud noise, cleaning chemicals, animal waste, and potentially aggressive animals.
• Shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
