Advocate & Per Diem Advocates : Offer support and group facilitation in our Springfield Bowan Community Center group space; Work with fellow team members and community to care for and maintain the space; Support growth and facilitation of the community. Seeking one person for permanant 8 hour shift and per diem, $18 to $19 per hour based on completion of core trainings and bilingual/bicultural experience (English/Spanish or English/ASL).

Required Qualifications: Investment in the value of peer support and alternatives to conventional clinical systems; Ability to balance a variety of needs in an active center; Your own experience living through trauma, psychiatric diagnosis, homelessness, problems with substances and/or a variety of other life-interrupting challenges; Understanding and commitment to examining and undoing systemic oppression related to racism, gender, psychiatric diagnosis, etc.

Preferred Qualifications : Established residence in Hampden County and familiarity with local resources; Experience offering peer support and familiarity with peer support values and approaches; Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/ASL)/Bicultural.

A Plus : Familiarity with consumer, survivor, ex-patient. mad, peer, recovery, and/or human rights movements.

Intentional Peer Support, and/or other training relevant to peer-to-peer support (Hearing Voices, Alternatives to Suicide, etc.); Familiarity with harm reduction approaches.
