PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Job Title: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Travel
• Location: Burlington, MA 01803 (Greater Boston area)
• Healthcare Setting: Float Pool (PCU, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry units)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 1, 2025 – November 29, 2025)
• Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a), 3 shifts per week
• Hours: 36 hours per week (includes every other weekend and holiday rotation)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2470 - $2540 per week
• Employment Type: Travel nursing contract

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (required at time of application)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• 3-5 years of recent inpatient RN experience (minimum 2 years in PCU, Med/Surg, or Telemetry at a Trauma Level 1 hospital)
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• BLS certification (required)
• Proficient in titrating pressors, managing vasoactive drips, high flow oxygen, BiPAP, and telemetry monitoring
• Must pass a Telemetry competency test on first day (pass/fail)
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (no declinations accepted)
• Cannot have worked (perm or travel) at any Beth Israel facility within the past 6 months
• Local candidates not eligible for this travel nursing job

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to PCU patients and float to Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed
• Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support, including titration of pressors and vasoactive drips
• Provide care for patients on high flow oxygen and BiPAP therapy
• Interpret and respond to telemetry monitoring for cardiac patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care and clinical interventions in the electronic health record
• Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations as part of the nursing team
