Position Description

The Teamcore Group ( at the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences ( SEAS ) at Harvard University seeks postdoctoral fellows to work on AI projects with societal impact. We are currently working on projects related to public health, equity and fairness, and wildlife conservation. We seek researchers who are enthusiastic about interacting with computer scientists and colleagues from other disciplines and who have a demonstrated interest in connecting their research agenda with societal issues.

Professor Milind Tambe's Teamcore group has focused on "AI for social good" for the past decade, covering topics such as, but not limited to: (i) AI for conservation (e.g., for protection of endangered wildlife, forests, fisheries); (ii) AI for public safety and security; (iii) AI for public health. Their research focuses on fundamental research problems in generative AI approaches using LLM agents and diffusion models to scale up AI for social impact projects, as well as in multiagent systems, including computational game theory, security games, machine learning in multiagent settings, automated planning under uncertainty, social networks and others that are driven by these topics, ensuring a virtuous cycle of research and real-world applications.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates are required to have a doctorate or terminal degree in Computer Science or a related area by the expected start date.

Salary Range

$67,600 - $91,826

Pay offered to the selected candidate is dependent on factors such as rank, years of experience, training or qualification, field of scholarship, and accomplishments in the field.
