Westwood Recreation Department
Town of Westwood seeks energetic and responsible individuals for the seasonal position of Camp Supervisor for the Westwood Recreation Department Summer Camp. This position is responsible for supervision of Recreation Camp staff as well as campers ages 5-14. Camp Supervisors will assist the Camp Senior Supervisors and the Camp Director with administration and operation of a comprehensive full-day summer camp program. They are responsible for the general safety and development of the participants at camp, as well as troubleshooting any problems that may arise during the day.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist, implement and administer the daily operations of the Summer Camp to include, but not limited to, daily programming, group management and special event planning.
- Implement department safety and emergency policies to maintain the health, safety and welfare of all campers and staff.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with staff, campers and parents/guardians.
- Oversee the use of equipment and maintenance of grounds.
- Oversee and assist in ordering all camp supplies and equipment.
Qualifications and experience: Supervisors must be at least 18 years of age with at least 3 years of experience in Recreation Programs, preferably Westwood Recreation Programs. Group supervision of children is required. Must attend all required staff training sessions. First Aid, CPR/AED certification is required. Ability to work with children of varying ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills necessary.
Schedule requirements: Mandatory pre-season staff trainings the week of June 8th (evenings). Work commitment Monday-Friday, June 29 - August 14, 2026 (No July 3rd).
Salary and Benefits: This is a seasonal, non-benefit position with a starting hourly rate of $18.00. Eligible for a $500 perfect attendance bonus! Employee Discount of 100% on in-house programs, e.g., camp for full-time staff and their immediate family.
